It all started when...

 

As a child of a clown and tightrope walker, Julie naturally gravitated toward designing for circus. Her first costume project was helping her mother paint a pair of white size 19 Converse Chuck Taylors sparkly purple, around age 5. Her repertoire also includes opera, musical theatre, and film, although circus remains a stalwart favorite. 

In July 2018, Julie was thrilled to join USA 829 in the costume design category for shopping on NBCUniversal’s Happy! Season 2.

Julie has designed and styled for numerous live performances, short films, photo shoots, commercials, and other projects in New York and London. She was part of the team awarded “Best Design Team” in the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2013. Her work has appeared in live performances Nutcracker Rouge, Nuclear CowboyzBig Apple CircusThe New York Musical Theatre Festival, and Muse: The Resistance Tour. She has also worked commercially for Cadbury’s, Diversity Street Dance, Nokia, and Bacardi.

Julie earned a Bachelor's degree in Apparel and Merchandising at Colorado State University, and went on to take additional fashion courses at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. She also was a member of the London based Chartered Society of Designers from 2010-2011.
